Baby killer o bambini soldato

Proprio ieri sera me ne vado a letto abbastanza presto, di ritorno dalla fiaccolata che i ragazzi di BLN avevano organizzato. Accendo il lettore mp3 e mi metto a vedere un film. Blood Diamond, proprio un bel film.
E’ la storia ambientata in Africa di un trafficante di diamanti e mostra la vita dei baby killer. Bambini soldato che imbracciano un’arma e uccidono dai 5 anni in su.
Africa, 300.000 sono i bambini arruolati in gruppi armati che combattono con la crudeltà, la spietatezza e la temerarietà di cui sono capaci i bambini innocenti.
Imbracciano Kalashnikow e vere bombe a mano, vestiti con divise per loro ancora troppo grandi e probabilmente non arriveranno mai a riempirle.
Bambini che vengono rapiti o persuasi ad arruolarsi in eserciti irregolari. Vengono drogati dai soldati che li hanno sottratti alle loro famiglie. Addestrati a uccidere, a torturare, a massacrare con coltelli maceti e robusti bastoni.
Molti stati hanno sottoscritto la Convenzione Internazionali sui diritti dell’ Infanzia ma c’è ancora molto da fare.
Susan, 16 anni dice:
“Un ragazzo tentò di scappare, ma fu preso. Le sue mani furono legate, poi essi costrinsero noi, i nuovi prigionieri, a ucciderlo con un bastone. Io mi sentivo male conoscevo quel ragazzo da prima, eravamo dello stesso villaggio. Io mi rifiutavo di ucciderlo, ma essi mi dissero che mi avrebbero sparato. Puntarono un fucile contro di me, così io lo feci. Il ragazzo mi chiedeva: ” Perchè mi fai questo?”. Io rispondevo che non avevo scelta. Io sogno ancora quel ragazzo del mio villaggio, che ho ucciso. Lo vedo nei miei sogni, egli mi parla e mi dice che l’ho ucciso per niente, e io grido.”
China 9 anni.
E’ stata rapita da un gruppo della resistenza ugandese. “Ho combattuto per sei anni, portavo i carichi più pesanti, cucinavo e uccidevo. Si, ho ucciso, in questo modo si diventa l’eroe del gruppo. Lo devi fare e basta: non c’è scelta.
Hassan Kamara 13 anni:
“Uccidevo per essere accettato e per paura di essere la prossima vittima”. Quando mi portarono nella foresta io divenni uno di loro e gli abitanti dei villaggi divennero il mio nemico. Ho cominciato a incendiare case, a tagliare mani e a uccidere tutti coloro che tradivano o si opponevano ai ribelli. Non è colpa mia, era la situazione del paese, mi dispiace per quello che ho fatto alla gente dei villaggi e prego il Signore di perdonarmi.”
Abbas oggi ha 16 anni:
“Quando incontravamo i soldati del governo li mutilavamo e li buttavamo per strada. Bruciavamo vivi gli abitanti dei villaggi che non si arrendevano. Violentavamo le donne. Mi ricordo una missione in particolare: eravamo tutti vestiti di nero, ci chiamavano i cobra. Abbiamo ammazzato tanta gente, poi l’abbiamo cucinata e ce la siamo mangiata.”
Ishmai soldato a 13 anni:
Dopo aver ingurgitato delle strane pastiglie bianche e aver visto la morte su tanti visi ed essersi imbrattato di sangue Ishmael riesce a sparare e a uccidere.
Nel 1996 il bambino soldato ha ormai quindici anni quando nel villaggio arrivare un camion Unicef . Dopo poche ore lui e alcuni altri ragazzi vengono “congedati”. Viene portato con gli altri in un centro di riabilitazione, ma l’astinenza dalle droghe a cui era, lui come gli altri, già assuefatto lo tormenta e la violenza si scatena in tutti quei ragazzini in cui il sangue che avevano sparso nelle battaglie sostenute quando erano soldati diventa una specie di ebbrezza e di incubo e i ricordi si ripresentano spesso impietosi.
Inizia la lunga e difficile opera di riabilitazione psicologica alla vita normale: la scuola, i rapporti umani, gli affetti.
